The Kraft Heinz Food Company has released a product recall, this week, over concerns that a recent shipment of Breakstone cottage cheese products may be contaminated by red plastic and metal pieces.

Kraft Heinz reports that approximately 9,500 cases of the cottage cheese product have been distributed across the United States and has also been exported to some locations in Latin America.

So far, at least six people have complained about finding the foreign objects in their product. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.  As is standard operating procedure with product recalls, Kraft Heinz has released an official statement.

In the recall notice posted by the United States Food and Drug Administration, Kraft Heinz has commented, “We deeply regret this situation and apologize to any consumers we have disappointed.  Consumption of hard or sharp foreign material could cause injury to teeth, mouth, throat, stomach, or intestine tissues if swallowed.  Consumers who purchased this product should not eat it and return it to the store where purchased for an exchange or full refund.”
